A Meetup is a way for people to meet online around any topic and then arrange a physical face-to-face event to talk further about that topic.

What we covered in October

In October we met to talk about LinkedIn and how Marketers can get more from LinkedIn than simply their own online CV. LinkedIn provides a range of services for lead generation. There are a couple of ways to advertise on LinkedIn.

You can place ads on the right-hand side of the screen, you’ve seen these against your own profile. LinkedIn recently added the ability to “sponsor” a post where your post is pushed into member’s news feeds. As a new addition to LinkedIn, these feature is probably worth exploring because few people are doing it at the moment.

Other ways to connect on LinkedIn

You can use In-Mail which is a paid service, this is helpful when you want to reach people whom you are not connected to. Another way to do this is to join a group in which the person you want to contact is also a member. A little-known secret is that members of groups can email each other within LinkedIn at no charge.

Eloqua Road to Revenue Keynote

London 31 January 2013

Watch the video above to learn how Coke Cola & Google re-imagined a 1960’s Coke ad campaign.
The entire presentation takes 45 minutes. However, if you’re tight for time start the video at about 9 minutes in.

Alex Shootman, President of Eloqua, shares a remarkable story about Coke Cola and a very modern marketing campaign which has roots in Coke’s most popular campaign from the late 1960s. It’s an extraordinary example of technology at play and talks to the social elements we’ve discussed above.
